What GPA do you need for UF architecture? ›

While architects focus on the floor plan of the house, landscape architects design the landscape plan to accentuate the topography of the land, the view, and the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. They plan hardscape features, including retaining walls, pergolas, and patios.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) accredited degree in landscape architecture or six years practical experience under a registered landscape architect. The applicant may use a combination of education and experience.

The best certifications for a landscape architect are Certified Landscape Architect (CLARB), Certified Urban Designer (CUD), and LEED AP Building Design + Construction (LEED).

How do I become a landscape designer in Florida? ›

Must have completed FNGLA Certified Horticulture Professional (FCHP) certification prior. Following completion of the FCLD written exams, applicants must submit a completed landscape plan with photos and letters of reference to complete the exam process. Although recommended, no prior training is required.

With a GPA of 3.5, Southern California Institute of Architecture requires you to be around average in your high school class. You'll need a mix of A's and B's, and very few C's. If you took some AP or IB classes, this will help boost your weighted GPA and show your ability to take college classes.

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. We prefer that students complete the pre-major Architecture course requirements before taking major courses. We strongly recommend completing these courses before applying for admission to the program. These count towards both major credit and general education requirements.
