Au Jus Recipe
When we’re short on time, we always use an Au Jus packet (we like the one pictured below).
If you want to try making your own, this quick Au Jus recipe from All Recipes is one of our favorites. We usually omit the fat drippings and add a pinch of garlic powder.
4 Simple Ingredients for these French Dip Crescents
Any recipe that only takes a few ingredients is a total win in our book. With just some refrigerated crescent rolls, provolone cheese, roast beef, and au jus mix, this recipe is good to go.
We use deli sliced roast beef in a pinch, but this recipe tastes even better with Sunday dinner pot roast leftovers.

How to make French Dip Crescents
Unroll crescents onto a large ungreased cookie sheet. We like to line ours with foil for a quick and easy cleanup.Place a slice or two of roast beef and a piece of cheese on each crescent.
Roll crescents starting from the wide end and ending at the narrow end.
Bake at 375 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes, until crescents are a golden color.
*Baking tip:if you find that your crescents aren’t cooking all the way through, you may need to decrease the temperature to 350 and cook them for a bit longer (around 18-20 minutes).
While the crescents are baking, prepare au jus. Dip freshly baked crescent rolls into au jus.

Other variations
We love this recipe as is, but it would be good served with a few extra additions, too.
Try adding extra veggies like caramelized onions or sautéed green peppers.
Substitute your favorite cheese (like pepper jack) in place of provolone.
Add a bit of horseradish inside the crescents (or use it to dip). My kids don’t love this option as much, but I think it’s so tasty with that added kick.

Thanks for this post!

I don't know how to make these without the insides being super doughy. I've had this problem with other stuffed crescents. There must be something that everyone knows that I don't...what am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem!

I make these all the time for my preschoolers lunch box! The only tweak is that I add a bit of caramelized onion and garlic into it as well (which softens up the cheese a bit for easier rolling!). They freeze well so I can just use them as needed.

Hello there! I first discovered you gals (on YouTube) while searching recipes for the IP I received for Christmas and then I just kinda started stalking you 🤣 While we’re here staying at home like the rest of the country I was searching for something easy to make for dinner (just me and my 15 y/o daughter) and happened across this recipe. It was super easy and I had practically everything right here at home (crazy how that happened). It made quite a big batch (for just 2) but these were as good the next day (I just ate them without reheating) while working from home. I found several other recipes I plan on making soon! Thank you for taking the time to put your recipes out there for the rest of us to enjoy! Especially those of us that have no imagination when it comes to cooking!

Cyd, best wishes to you and all your families! We are both staying home and health! I’ve been watching your YouTube channel a lot more lately looking for more recipes and this weekend we’re planning on making the Lasagna in the springform pan and D&G IP Apple Crisp dessert recipe. One question?!? Do you think I should consider purchasing an extra IP pot and do you prefer a non-stick pot or a stainless steel one?

Cyd says:
You can easily make both of these recipes with one instant pot. You may the additional accessories (pans) to make certain recipes. Some of the sisters have 2 instant pots and it is really helpful. But know that you can also get buy with one. Here is the amazon link to our favorite instant pot. It's the Instant Pot 6 quart duo. If you have a large family you can get it in the 8 quart size. https://amzn.to/2ye9W3J

So much fun making this! It turned out delicious 😋 I tried cooking at 375 instead of the 350. The dough cooked better for me at that temperature
