We have created 3 different label templates for you to choose from:

  • A4 Integrated label & despatch note template
  • A4 Separate label & despatch note template - with the option to have 1, 2 or 4 labels per page
  • 6 x 4 Separate label & despatch note template

Please note: With the exception of thermal labels, all templates are designed to print on A4 media - either plain paper, or on a sheet of sticky labels.

Template specifications

The integrated label template and 6 x 4 label template specifications are as below:

  • Label Dimensions - 190mm wide, 100mm high
  • Label Position - 10mm from left, right and foot
  • Labels Per Sheet - 1 Label
  • Colour - White
  • Perforation Details - Horizontal perforation 120mm from foot
  • Biodegradable - Yes
  • Recyclable - Yes
  • Sustainable Sources - Yes

In addition, Scan & Print is an optional feature to assist with the packing of your products. With it, you can scan barcodes printed on your despatch notes, and then instantly generate the correct labels for your orders.
NB: Despatch notes can only be generated for orders in the 'Postage applied' status.
Our easy to use guide gives clear instructions for generating yourdespatch notes so you can use them with Scan & Print.

Setting up your printer

While we can't provide technical support on printer settings, you can find guides below that may help you set up your printer. If you encounter any issues, you will need to liaise with your printer manufacturer.

What the different templates look like

A4 Integrated label & despatch note template

This format includes both the shipping label and the customer invoice on the same sheet of A4.

A4 Separate label & despatch note template

The shipping label and the customer invoice are printed on separate sheets of A4.
If you use an SKU reference, it will show on the 6x4 label at the bottom underneath the Click & Drop / channel reference-this is to aid pick and pack from label alone.
You also have the option to print labels only without the despatch note being produced.

6x4 Separate label & despatch note template- for use with label printers

The shipping label is produced in a format for 6x4 printer labels and the customer invoice is printed on a separate sheet.
Don't forget, if you use a 6x4 thermal printer and you're an OBA customer, you can order labels free for this via our Online Mail Supplies page.

You also have the option to print labels only without the despatch note being produced.

How to select your shipping label template

Follow our simple steps below to set up a label template.

Within Click & Drop, click on the 'Settings' link.

The 'Settings / Overview' page then opens up.
In the 'Templates' section, click on the 'Go' button.

The 'Templates' page appears and in 4 easy steps you can choose the label format that you want to use. Previews of the label design and other paperwork such as despatch notes and custom declaration forms are displayed on the right hand side of the page.

Step 1: Choose your template

The two choices available are:

  • Integrated label & despatch note template - this includes the shipping label and the customer invoice on the same sheet of A4.
  • Separate label & despatch note template- the shipping label and the customer invoice are printed on separate sheets of either A4 or 6x4 labels.

If you use a SKU reference, it will show on the 6x4 label at the bottom underneath the Click & Drop / channel reference-this is to aid pick and pack from label alone.

Step 2: Choose label format

The two choices available are:

  • A4 -can be printed on a regular home or office printer.
    Please note: the integrated label & despatch note can only be printed on A4.
  • 6x4 label -can be printed on a thermal or label printer.
    If you are an Online Business Account (OBA) customer, and use a 6x4 thermal printer, you can order labels for free via Online Mail Supplies

Step 3: Choose despatch note format

  • A4
  • 6x4 - Despatch notes can only be printed on 6x4 if you have selected 6x4 as your label format in Step 2
  • Do not generate despatch note

Step 4: Choose additional options

  • Generate customs declarations with orders - by ticking this option, customs declaration forms will be printed for international orders that require them. Items being shipped to a destination outside of the European Union must have a custom form attached.
    Please note:Click & Drop prints blank customs declaration forms, so you will need to fill out the necessary details by hand.
  • Include produce SKUs on label
  • Labels per page - this is only available if you have selected separate label and despatch note template on A4 paper. You have the choice of having 1, 2 or 4 labels per page.

Once you are happy with your template selections, click the 'Save' button

What to do if you decide you want to change your label template style

Should you need to change the template used for future orders, you can easily do so by clicking on the 'Settings' link then in the 'Templates' section, click on the 'Go' button.

Once the Templates page opens, simply follow the process again, changing the options to your new requirements.

Customs labels- for when you're posting items outside of the UK

On each label template style, you also have the option of whether a customs declaration is printed with your orders.

To activate this option, simply ensure that you click on the selection box.

Items being shipped to a destination outside of the EU must have a custom form attached

What to do if you don't have access to a printer

If you don't have a printer you can still generate labels whensendingparcels via Click & Drop using Labels to Go.We'll send you a QR code to your mobile, which you can take to your local Customer Service Pointwho will print the label for you.You can drop your items off theretoo.Find out more about Labels to Go.

Adding images to your labels and despatch notes

There areoptional features that enableyou* to add your logo onto your Click & Drop labels or despatch notes. You can set a different logo for each trading name you have set up in Click & Drop.

Royal Mail Print Assist

Royal Mail Print Assist allows you to print your labels instantly as you generate labels in Click & Drop, with no clicks required.

With Print Assist, any time you generate a label in Click & Drop, it will print automatically.
For this feature to be activated, you will first need to contact our Shipping Support team.

Please notePrint Assist is only for Windows or macOS operating systems. You may require permissions to install the software on your computer or device.
