Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica addpermalink

Cute magical girls fighting against monsters. At first glance, they don't have much in common and Assault Lily seems more light-hearted but Madoka is just the same at the beginning. Also, if you appreaciated Madoka and Homura relationship dynamics, you will probably like that of Riri and Yuyu.

Azur Lane addpermalink

Assault Lily and Azur Lane have somehow a similar lore. Group of girls that fight together as the last stand of humanity against "sci-fi" monsters/enemies. The methods they use is also pretty similar - while the shipgirls at Azur Lane use typical warships guns such as planes, torpedos and other naval guns, and the Lillies at Assault Lilly use their CHARMs, the way the weapons are used are also a bit similar.

Both are about anime girls who train at special schools to fight against an evil force. Both have surprisingly similar protagonists. One is cheerful and lighthearted, and she tries to befriend a more serious and tragic one, who hasn’t gotten over losing a loved one in the past.

Class. It's a bit more obvious where the orientation that differentiates the two titles lie, however, it goes to be said anyway, MHA and Assault Lily are both titles that understand their premise and use their paramount production skills to make said setting believable in the first place. You want heroes that correlate with 50s/60s type heroes? MHA has got that covered, with its own twist on the entire journey from zero. You want rich posh type ladies in a somewhat magical school with mercenary-like weaponry? Assault Lily's got you covered with Shaft on their side.

From the very first episode, I already thought these two were very similair. Both animes have the MC partnered with a "senpai" as their mentor. Their mentor has a tragic back story that will slowly get revealed. And the Ops of both animes are bomb~

Both of these anime have the same fighting style (a weapon that can be a gun), a great fighting scene, some yuri bait, etc.The difference is that BRS based on the MC's another life/ dream and fighting with her friends.

Blue Reflection Ray addpermalink

Young girls presented in an idol-like magical girl fashion while having to fight a particular threat. The story primarily focuses on the experience of a cold and timid (also quite shy) girl and a cheerful and extroverted girl, with them trying to learn how to connect with people while developing a 'special' bond towards each other. In contrast to that, the only difference is the setting and concepts used, so I am fairly sure that anyone would find either enjoyable if they find one interesting.

Do you like magical girls, but absolutely love giant mech fights? Do you prefer your battle waifs with a little bit of drama? Both these shows have got you covered. Aside from the visual similarities between our two lead characters, both shows also have yuri-undertones and dramatic character beats.

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru addpermalink

Both feature a group of students being tasked to fight foreign enemies that threaten peace in their world. Started out like a light hearted-anime where everything seems to be happy. However, after a couple of episodes, it is clear that being a Magical Girl/Lily is not as fun as it seemed to be. Both anime does feature some depressing and tear-jerking moments but it does mix in with some funny and happy moments. If you enjoy Yuuki Yuuna is a hero and craving for more, Assault Lily is a good alternative for it and vice versa.

Unique girls in black and white uniforms who fight against mysterious beings, Assault Lily is definitely not as dark though. But if you like one then you might like the other.

Ga-Rei: Zero addpermalink

Both mix elements of Japanese folklore with a modern environment, with a government organization that uses swords to fight evil spirits. Both feature female protagonists, with the friendship between the two main girls being in focus. If you like the dark action in one, the other might suit your tastes.

Soul Eater addpermalink

Partner. Soul Eater and Assault Lily have a way of making partners between two individuals the maximal important factor in their respective series. With the idea of partners, it isn't like nakama/friendship either, both kinda jump into a more sophisticated bond with actual meaning that plays later in each series.Soul Eater does with the soul resonance, the very means to connect a weapon and a meister together, in which, any connection by the two already cooperating parties is usually unheard of and doesn't work. Assault Lily does this with the "sister" relationship that Lillies entitle themselves with, a duo like no other in other words, &nbspread more

Almost the same thing. Bunch of teenage girls are fighting hostile entities with the combined power of magic, technology and power of friendship. Mandatory yuri bait. Also, two main girls, their backstories, design and personalities are nearly identical.

Strawberry Panic addpermalink

While these are completely different in terms of genre (Assault Lily involves action and Strawberry Panic centers around school life and romance), they have more similarities than it seems first. The protagonist is a transfer student entering girls' school where there is a whole lot of cuties fighting for her attention. You will also be pleased if you like the 'mysterious senpai' trope.

Kill la Kill addpermalink

Enthusiasm. Kill la Kill and Assault Lily don't have a lot in common. Though their action rings some resonance with one another, mainly because of the background behind the studios who worked on this. I guess there is the presence of ridiculous weapons being used in both, relative to size and functions. Hints of girl's love too. Both are good action anime. You can tell the studios had fun animating these as well.

The aesthetic of the two shows are really what made me draw them together, in a world of magic and weapons too, it's more of a visual idea these two give rather than plot detail.Whilst they may be far apart, with one being a harem, the other being an action Shaft anime. I'd say that the two still do hold down a good idea of teamwork to an extent. It's relative, but unconventional when stuck together. Past all the harem nonsense and ostentatious Shaft moments, they are pretty good action anime set in a school environment that looked like it was made for the upper &nbspread more

Both are similar from one another in a sense of its idea towards the message that it wants to offer to its viewers. With difference in atmosphere, environment, and context yet similar in terms of purpose and objectives that the protagonist/s want/s to accomplish. Essentially, both centers around the occurance of unknown forces that became a threat to humanity while introducing adorable female characters with extra-ordinary skills and capabilities whom are the only ones that are able to defeat it without dying from it. Having a setting being in a futuristic apocalyptic-like future, one can enjoy these series if they get their interest into it.

Shoujo ai, action and fantasy are three key elements in Assault Lily: Bouquet and Simoun. Talented young girls join and work together as a team to defend their nations. The experienced main characters had traumatised due to their past that prevent them making/teaming up with a new partner and must overcome that obstacles.Yuri cannot be missed in these anime.

Duo. Absolute Duo and Assault Lily both have the common factor of "the duo" being a major part of the story, without one, the other falters, there is no singularity, only the duo.Assault Lily isn't fixated on this way of narrative, though it does dive into the idea a lot with its whole "sister" attribute. Absolute Duo is the same though it calls the pairing a literal "duo". Both anime contain both parties swinging around their respective pair fighting enemies that behold whilst also learning about the mass magnitude of things their respective curricula permits them to.Both are good action anime, though they don't seem &nbspread more
